Be Careful Little Feet Where You Go

When was a kid in Sunday School, we used to sing this song about 'be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little ears what you hear, and be careful little feet where you go, because the Father up above is looking down in love, so be careful little feet where you go..." I can't say that it always made me more relaxed knowing God was watching over me...'cause sometimes I was going where my feet shouldn't have!

I guess in the 21st century, there's another level of 'watching where your feet' go as as a man in Britain discovered recently...and this is coming to Canada too.

A furious British wife has called in divorce lawyers after spotting her husband's car parked outside another woman's house — on Google.

She saw the Range Rover while using the Internet giant's new Street View service to snoop on a female friend's home.

The hubby had claimed he was away on business, but his missus recognized his SUV immediately because of its blinged-up hubcaps.

The love cheat is not the only husband trapped by Google's controversial new 360-degree photo search, which covers 25 cities and towns throughout Britain.

Top media lawyer Mark Stephens said: "I was talking about the Range Rover case when another divorce lawyer came up to say his firm was dealing with the same sort of thing. People are getting caught out on Google. I suspect the husband's lawyers will claim it was an invasion of privacy that will cost him his marriage and Range Rover."

FSA. A Waste or Necessary?

FSA is not a disease. It is a standardized test administered to grades 4, 7, and 10. The government feels that it is one tool of several that gives them a 'snapshot' of how students are doing and where/if improvement is needed. Teachers feel it is a waste of time, money and an unnecessary stress on students. Teachers feel that their subjective observation is much more valuable. The government is mandating it while the vast majority of teachers do not want to administer it.

ONE VIEW:
One is left wondering whether the union is mostly interested in killing off data that could suggest when its members are failing kids.

Other professionals in B.C. -- doctors, lawyers, engineers -- embrace systems to reveal and correct mistakes and incompetence. BCTF members won't be viewed as full professionals until they do the same.

Another view:

The BCTF is encouraging parents to write to school principals requesting that their children be excluded from the tests.

The union maintains the province should use random sampling methods instead of testing all students in reading, writing and math.

A Lighter Distraction- Bring This To Canada!

Ok, I've been writing some intense stuff over all the political stuff going on. Amazon has a new way to read books. If you know me, I LOVE to read - magazines, newspapers, blogs, and books (currently 8 beside the bed). While traveling, I often have 4 or 5 books with me which is very heavy to carry. I am excited to see this come to Canada:

Amazon says:
Three years ago, we set out to design and build an entirely new class of device—a convenient, portable reading device with the ability to wirelessly download books, blogs, magazines, and newspapers. The result is Amazon Kindle.

We designed Kindle to provide an exceptional reading experience. Thanks to electronic paper, a revolutionary new display technology, reading Kindle’s screen is as sharp and natural as reading ink on paper—and nothing like the strain and glare of a computer screen. Kindle is also easy on the fingertips. It never becomes hot and is designed for ambidextrous use so both "lefties" and "righties" can read comfortably at any angle for long periods of time.

Check this out - It's amazing. Books and technology come together!!

Unfortunately, it isn't in Canada yet (and the price needs to come down)

Iphone killers? better and cheaper?!

It is nutty to me to see people lining up to get the newest and latest gadgetry in phones in the Iphone G3. Sure it has some cool features. It is going to be expensive to use and run. These gadgets aren't too expensive off the top, but the month to month will kill you.

Allow me, as a public service to present unto you some options that are being called 'iphone killers' that will allow your budget to survive.

First is the Samsung Omnia A bit of an Apple knock off but is running windows operating system to allow full interfacing with your office software, plus has Hi speed internet, mp3, camera, video, etc. etc. Coming in August apparently but not sure if it is only to the States. Cant seem to find info for sure though.

Also in the Samsung family Bell will be offering - the Samsung Instinct come August.

We are thrilled to offer Canadians this beautifully designed and intelligent
device. Accessing the Internet, listening to downloaded music or satellite
radio, watching TV or using it as a GPS system, it’s all a real pleasure with
the Samsung Instinct thanks to its powerful touch screen and easy interface,”
said Adel Bazerghi, vice president of products for Bell Mobility. “Data pricing
plans available with the Samsung Instinct will offer also exceptional value and
let clients take full advantage of Bell Mobility’s wide range of data services.”

Blackberry Thunder - Fall 2009? The BlackBerry Thunder smartphone may also have the most technically advanced cellular wireless support ever, according to the claim. Should the claim is accurate; the BlackBerry Thunder would include both GSM and CDMA with support for worldwide roaming. Owners of the Thunder will enjoy surfing on 3.5G or even pre-4G data and may support up to Ultra Mobile Broadband (aka EVDO Revision C) on Verizon’s CDMA networks. Download speeds can possibly be achieved up to 280Mbps in peak conditions, while adding full High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) on GSM services. So what does this mean? Basically, this support would allow the BlackBerry Thunder to work in nearly any country with 3G or better Internet access

So relax. Forget the hype. You don't have to sell your car or cash in your kid's college fund. There will be lots of options to the I-phone that are affordable. Get a life. Get out of that line up and enjoy your summer.

80 MPG 1987 Ford Mustang

In the face of rising oil and gas prices, it is amazing the power of innovation that God has enabled mankind to do. Perhaps Arab oil sheiks should tremble when the innovation and technology begins to roll out hybrid, hydrogen, electric, solar and other super efficient vehicles.

Maybe Ford should take a look at Doug Pelmear’s 1987 Ford Mustang before the 2010 Mustang rolls off the assembly line. According to him he has been able
to re-engineer his Mustangs engine to produce 400 Horsepower and 500 Torque while improving his gas mileage to an astounding 80 Miles per gallon. He created the car to compete in the $10 million Progressive Automotive X Prize which is a
“race” to find an affordable, marketable automobile that gets at least 100 miles per gallon, or its equivalent

Pretty amazing?! Hopefully it is true - you can check the rest of the story here.
